10 More Tiny Resets for Your Monday Morning
Share
Some Mondays are a little harder than others. And your energy feels thin before you’ve even had a coffee.
That’s why I’m really into these little resets. They’re short, they’re simple, you don’t need anything to do them, no equipment necessary. A few words, a few breaths to bring you backing yourself before the week whisks you off.
Have a look, see which one might feel right today.
1. The One-Breath Affirmation
Hand on your chest. Take a slow, steady breath in. Whisper to yourself:
“My energy matters. I choose where it goes.”
Exhale fully. Done.
2. The Cup Pause
Before your first sip of tea or coffee, close your eyes for just one moment. Feel the warmth. Say:
“I’m here. I’m starting slowly. That’s enough.”
3. The Shoulder Drop
Lift your shoulders up to your ears. Hold for 3 seconds. Exhale and drop them down. As you release, repeat:
“I let go of what I don’t need to carry today.”
4. The Smile Affirmation
Smile (yes, even if you don’t feel like it). Hold it for 10 seconds. Then say:
“Joy belongs here, too.”
5. The “No” Reminder
Say quietly:
“It’s ok to say no today. Protecting my energy is an act of care.”
Notice where your body relaxes as you give yourself permission.
6. The Gratitude Glance
Look around the room and silently name three things you’re grateful for, no matter how small. Add:
“I begin my day with gratitude.”
7. The Grounding Affirmation
Notice where your body is supported, maybe your back against the chair, your hands resting in your lap, or the weight of your body being held.
Say to yourself:
“I’m supported. I’m steady. I’m here.”
8. The Stretch & Reach
Stretch your arms overhead as if you’re trying to touch the ceiling. Hold for 5 seconds. Breathe. Exhale and let them fall. Repeat:
“I welcome new energy into today.”
9. The Kind Thought
Think of someone you love. Send them a silent wish: “May you be well today.” Then remind yourself:
“Kindness starts with me.”
10. The Reset Word
Choose a word for the day, slowness, focus, steady, joy. Say it to yourself once:
“Today I'm taking [your word] with me.”
A gentle reminder
You don’t need a 60-minute morning routine to reset your week. Sometimes one breath, one smile, or one morning affirmation is enough.
Try one of these today.
And if you’d like a little more support, we’ve created a whole collection of morning affirmations in the Clementine Library. Each one is designed to help you start the day right , with calm, clarity, and confidence.
